Weekly Wrap-up!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Now that the weather is heating up we have begun to spend all of our free time outside enjoying the sun. This weekend we plan on chilling out at home, swimming and catching up with friends. Here is what has been happening lately!

Last weekend we headed to the coast for our first beach trip of the season and what a day we had. The sun was shinning and it was the hottest day we have had so far so there was lots of swimming and many ice creams consumed.

The newest member of our family, Mr Louis Labrador has grown so much since we brought him home just three weeks ago. For anyone who doesn’t own a Labrador or know anything about them, these dogs like to eat… a lot! There is no denying he is going to be a big (and very cute) dog!

A few days ago I bought some new Glasshouse fragrence infusers for the house  and I LOVE them. If you haven’t herd of Glasshouse candles you are missing out because they smell amazing! Their fragrance infusers smell just as wonderful and don’t require an open flame, which is a bonus when you are living with kids, big dogs and are a little klutzy! My favorite flavors include Tahah and Amalfi Coast.

I uploaded this picture to instagram earlier today and love pretty much everything about it. My Country Road jeans are my daily go to and I am in love with my new black and white plaid, which you can find here. Also my company is pretty darn cute!

Last up my weekend reading is sorted with the new Donna Hay magazine, which I got in the mail today. I can’t wait to whip up some of these gorgeous summer recipes soon!

Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Well-read Wednesday on a Thursday ...

Hey Everyone.

As some of you may have noticed I was complete scatter brain yesterday and jumped straight ahead to Thursdays post, which was my recipe of the week. SeriouslyI need a holiday, I don't even know what day it is y'all! Any way and ready to talk books. This weeks book is F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic Tender is the night.

I read this book first in high school and began my love affair with Fitzgerald's work. Seriously F. Scott Fitzgerald was a true romantic an optic one at that. His stories are truly timeless and this book is no exception.

Now if you do indeed find your self enchanted with Fitzgerald's work, I would highly recommend this book. I received this collection of his short stories a few years ago for christmas and have read it back to front about a million times! What can I say, I am a sucker for the classics!
All of Fitzgerald's book highlight the complexities and struggles of love but ultimately remind us that it is the greatest gift we can ever receive or give.

Lots of love to you gals today!

Baked Spinach and Cheese Mushrooms

Hi Ladies!

I hope your week is going well, Half way there!! This weeks recipe is super simple but a total crowd pleaser, and looks pretty impressive. No I will freely admit that mushrooms aren't really my think, I don't mind them but they are definitely not my favourite vegetable. However this recipe is so delicious I may just be changing my mind! Recipe thanks to Australian Good Taste.

You Will Need
80ml (1/3 cup) olive oil

Method
Preheat oven to 220C.

Combine the oil, vinegar, garlic and chopped thyme in a small bowl. Brush the mushrooms with a little of the oil mixture. Place on a lined baking tray, cut-side up.

Divide the spinach among the mushrooms. Top with a little of the oil mixture. Top each mushroom with 2 slices of provolone. Top with remaining oil mixture.

Bake the mushrooms for 15 minutes, until cheese is golden

Serve to friends and family!

Weekend Getaway to Brighton!

It's Tuesday and that means it's time to talk travel!

As you guys know I was lucky enough to live in the UK for a few months while I was finishing University. While I was living there my girlfriends and I would often plan short weekend getaways to  popular towns around England. One of these towns which i absolutely loved is Brighton.

Just 40 minutes via train from central London, Brighton is the perfect weekend getaway. Filled with sweet cafes, upmarket shops and set along a pebble beach, Brighton is gorgeous. We spent only two full days here but didn't feel like we missed out on anything.

We had great food while in Brighton, including a great vegetarian dinner at Terre A Terre. But the real food highlight of the weekend was a trip to the infamous Choccywoccydoodah. If you haven't herd of this place, there is a TV show centred around this bakery and their INCREDIBLE cakes! I mean these cakes really are amazing. You can visit their flagship store in Brighton or London, for a coffee or to pic up some chocolate.

Wearing gumboots to the beach. Only in England!

We had a beautiful time in Brighton, it really was the perfect weekend getaway. If you are in London and have a spare day or weekend up your sleeve I highly recommend you make the train trip there!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday lovely ladies!

It is a long weekend here, so we are soaking up the sun at the beach. But I couldn't miss the opportunity to share my favourite fashion finds of the week. As summer is fast approaching and the weather is heating up I have been stoking up on some summer essentials. Here are a few pieces I have bought lately and know you will love.
First up, this gorgeous over sized straw fedora.  I have been wearing it all weekend and it is great! Sun protection and style, I think YES! You can find it here, best part its only $20.

Next up, this stripped sequin tee from Seed Heritage. It is light and sure is bright! I love this new purchase and can't wait to wear it ASAP. You can find it here.

Love love love this cotton, off the shoulder dress. This is great to throw over your togs when poolside or at the beach. A totally summer essential. You can find it here.

Finally I was in serious need of a new pair of Ray-Ban Aviator's! This classic style goes with everything and the gold frame with light brown gradient lenses is perfect for summer. You can find them here.

I saw this yesterday and waned to share it with you all. Such a sweet and important sentiment. I hope all your hearts are filled and that you all had a splendid weekend!

Weekly Wrap-up

Happy Friday Everyone!

This week has been crazy as always, so I am looking forward to a restful weekend. Due to all the hot weather we are having at the moment we have decided to have our first beach day of the season this weekend! I am super excited because I absolutely live for summer and the beach! But before I take off to enjoy the sun and sand, here is what has been happening lately.

Like I said, we have been having amazing weather lately. And when the days are as gorgeous as this, where else would you be other than outside?? We have had a few storms in the late afternoon but they always clear in time for sunsets like this.

I took this picture a few days ago when I was making dinner. I literally looked out the kitchen window, saw that sunset and knew I had to share it with you all. This is why I love summer!!

Yesterday I hit up the shops with one of my closest girlfriends for some retail therapy and of course I couldn't go past Lush without having a look. We all know how obsessed I am with this store. Everything in their smells great, is so darn pretty and makes your skin glow. What more could you want from a store really ?!?!

One of my sweet little purchases, I picked up yesterday. I mean how cute is this phone case? I just couldn't leave it behind! #shopaholic #ineedhelp

For those of you who asked about my accessories seen in this Instagram pic. My watch is Michael Kors and I am possibly in love with it. I wear it constantly, you can find it here.

The gold and jewel bangle is from Juicy Couture, but sadly is a few years old so no longer sold :(

The other criss-cross bangle is from Taju and you can find their jewellery here.

I will leave you with some wise words from the amazing Ms Von Furstenberg. Happy Friday gals!

Blueberry Breakfast Popsicles

Hi Ladies!

In celebration of the warm weather we are having at the moment, I thought I would share one of my favourite summer recipes with you all - Blueberry breakfast Pops. Popsicles seem to be the latest food craze, so why not integrate them into your summer breakfast menu!?!

This recipe is super duper easy and courtesy of the very cool jojotastic!

You Will Need
(makes 5 popsicles)
150 g greek yogurt
4 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 cup granola
1/2 cup blueberries

Method
Mix the greek yogurt with two tablespoons of maple syrup. Then layer in the popsicle molds with yogurt, blueberries, granola, and a drizzle of maple syrup.

Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze for approx. 3 hours.

When you’re ready to serve, run the molds under warm water for 10 seconds and wiggle them out.

I mean seriously how delicious do these look! I know you will all enjoy them as much as my brood does! Happy Thursday loves.
