Switzerland!

Good Morning Everyone!

This weeks travel post is all about Switzerland! Switzerland has to be one of my all time favourite travel destinations. I have visited a few times before but our last trip was especially memorable.  Surrounded by France, Italy, Austria and Germany, Switzerland is a small but stunning land locked country with views that will leave you breathless.

Because Switzerland is famously 'Neutral' there are four native languages including french, Italian, german and Romansh.

This was the view from our hotel room in Wengen. Not a bad way to wake up!
During my past visits I have stayed in both Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. Both gorgeous spots with a variety of accommodation options suitable for every budget.

An absolute must do when visiting Switzerland is a visit to the top of the Jungfraujoch or (Jungfau for short). Home to the highest railway station in Europe and located 3,545 meters about sea level, the Jungfrau provides you with uninterrupted views of all four surrounding countries as well as the spectacular swiss landscape.

Covered in snow all year round the Jungfrau is home to a vast amount of activities (all subjective to weather conditions) that will keep the kids (and energetic adults) busy all day long! They include, skiing, sledding, tubing, iceskating and even zip lining. There is an ice sculpture museum for the kids and even a restaurant.

The Junfrau has something for everyone and was a big highlight of our trip.

The day was completed with an introduction to this gorgeous newfound- land bear dog. This guy just happens to like riding the train up and down the swiss mountains with his owners while making friends with tourists. By the looks of this picture he too had a great day visiting the Jungfrau!

So there you have it! Switzerland is an absolute must when visiting Europe. No matter the season this pint sized country will take your breath away with its natural beauty whilst securing a place in your travel-heart forever!
